The Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3.0 (ASK3) external SSD, first reviewed a decade ago, remains a trusted device for secure data storage. Now, Apricorn has released an updated version, with the 2TB model tested here—the highest capacity available, compared to the original 480GB unit. The ASK3 is a USB 3.2 bus-powered secure SSD that draws power from the host. Its rugged, IP68-rated aluminum enclosure resists dust and prolonged water immersion. The new model retains the same physical design as its predecessor, but features updated internal components.
