PEAK Goes Automotive Ethernet: PAE-Media Converter connects 100/1000BASE-T1 with Standard Ethernet
San Diego, CA: June 1, 2026. Tecate Group today announced the expansion of its ultracapacitorproduct offerings with new cells rated for operation up to 105°C (221°F). The new TPLT productseries is rated at 2.3V and currently includes four sizes: 3.3F, 4F, 6F, and 11F. Additional sizes arein development.Tecate Group’s current TPL and TPLH series ultracapacitors are rated for operation up to 65°C(149°F), or up to 85°C (185°F) with voltage derating. The new TPLT series delivers a 60%improvement in high-temperature performance over these existing technologies.High temperatures can significantly influence ultracapacitor performance by acceleratingelectrolyte decomposition, increasing self-discharge, and reducing lifetime due to faster aging ofelectrode materials and separators. Elevated temperatures may temporarily lower internalresistance and improve power delivery, but prolonged exposure typically leads to capacitancedecay and reliability issues. Tecate Group’s new TPLT series improves application performanceby helping maintain stable electrical characteristics and providing longer service life in harshenvironments such as automotive under-hood systems, industrial equipment, and oil and gas electronics. A higher temperature rating reduces the need for active cooling, enables morecompact system designs, and improves overall system robustness and uptime, especially inapplications where thermal management is difficult or ambient temperatures are consistentlyhigh.
