Quanta Adopts Siemens Xcelerator to Accelerate Digital Manufacturing Transformation

Quanta Computer Inc. is expanding its digital transformation efforts by adopting Siemens Xcelerator software to create a connected environment linking product development and manufacturing operations across its global network. The initiative is designed to shorten development cycles, improve responsiveness to market demand, and support greater consistency and scalability across operations. Siemens said the deployment will establish a unified digital thread connecting Quanta’s R&D centers with its distributed manufacturing facilities. The company expects the approach to reduce new product introduction (NPI) timelines by 20% to 25% through improved collaboration and digital twin-based decision-making. “In a fast-evolving market, optimizing our global operational footprint is critical. Siemens has the toolset that will allow us to achieve our ambitious goals,” said Terrisa Chung, Vice President, Quanta Computer, in a press statement. “Siemens brings deep expertise in high-tech electronics and a comprehensive software portfolio that supports our key objectives – from reducing commissioning time to improving data accuracy and cross-site collaboration.” The deployment includes Siemens’ Polarion application lifecycle management software and Teamcenter product lifecycle management software to provide end-to-end traceability from customer requirements and RFQs through design data and bill-of-materials management. Quanta will also use Teamcenter Manufacturing to manage bill-of-process information and strengthen links between engineering and production. In addition, Siemens Process Simulate will be used to validate and optimize manufacturing processes digitally before production. “Quanta Computer’s adoption of Siemens Xcelerator underscores the value of a connected digital thread in bringing together complex engineering and manufacturing data,” said Bas Kuper, senior vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific, Siemens Digital Industries Software.
